Congratulations to Tom Gulley, President of the Hopkins County - Madisonville Fair, on being named the 2024 Kentucky County Fair Person of the Year! This prestigious award recognizes Tom’s exceptional leadership and dedication to the success of our fair.

After stepping into his role in 2022, Tom navigated challenges with skill and determination. With his knowledge and passion for the fair and Hopkins County, he ensured its continued success. In 2024, he led the charge to secure a new carnival partner, Miller Spectacular Shows, and oversaw the expansion of the fair to nine days—a first in our history. His leadership resulted in one of the most successful fairs we’ve ever had!

While leading these monumental changes, Tom also oversaw several major improvements to our fairgrounds. In 2024, the fair received a grant to construct a new hog barn, a much-needed addition to our facilities. At the same time, the old farmer’s market pavilion was relocated and reconstructed inside the fairgrounds to create a versatile space for use during the fair. These projects, completed amidst the planning for our expanded fair, were a testament to Tom’s ability to balance immediate needs with long-term improvements.

On behalf of the Hopkins County Fair Board and our entire community, we congratulate Tom Gulley on being named the 2024 Kentucky County Fair Person of the Year. Thank you, Tom, for your extraordinary dedication, hard work, and vision. You have truly made a lasting impact on our fair and our community, and we are proud to celebrate this milestone with you.

DrewExpo2013FairDates

You thought our 2012 Fair was great!  Just Announced.  We've scheduled Drew Exposition to be there at our 2013 Hopkins County Fair.  Great Rides, Great Food, Great Fun July 23-27, 2013.  Drew Exposition is often referred to as America's Amusement Park on Tour because of their attention to detail and ability to transform a midway into an amusement park like atmosphere with plenty of shaded rest areas, trash cans, a live working band organ, and high capacity European amusement attractions.

They are not afraid to be different. While many American carnivals are downsizing their attractions to smaller, more portable models, Drew consistiently invests in large, multi trailer European attractions that are capable of riding large groups of fairgoers. Rides such as the Enterprise, Wave Swinger, Pirate, Super Himalaya, and Seattle Wheel are all unique attractions that are rarely seen on fair or carnival midways.

Drew Exposition has been known for providing the best selection of modern day amusement rides for over half a century.  They are one of the only remaining traveling carnivals of the 21st century to be operating a Huss Pirate and Enterprise; both multi trailer rides that were imported from Germany.  Drew Exposition takes great pride in the condition of their equipment, both cosmetically and mechanically.  Strict safety policys including daily safety checks and routine ride inspections are conducted by government officials.

Can't wait to see the rides?  Check out their website:  DREW EXPO
