Bruce Jones sworn in as KAFHS President

MADISONVILLE, KY. –Bruce Jones, Vice President of the Hopkins County Fair Board, was sworn in as President of the KY Fairs and Horse Shows Association (KAFHS) on January 13, 2017 at the Gault House in Louisville Ky.  Mr. Jones has been a member of the Association for thirty years and this is not the first time he has distinguished himself in service to the KAFHS.  Mr. Jones has also served as Zone 1 Director, overseeing operations for thirty- two County Fairs.  Hopkins County has a long tradition of serving at the State level.  No less than six Hopkins County Fair Board members have served as President of KAFHS since 1965, including the current President of the Hopkins County Fair Board, Allen Seibert.  “Hopkins County Fair is well represented”, according to Mr. Jones.  Tom Gulley, another Hopkins County Fair Board member, is serving as the current Sgt. At Arms for the KAFHS and several of the Hopkins County Fair Board members, including Brian Jones, the newest Zone 1 Director are on KAFHS committees.  Hopkins County Fair continues to be a leader among county fairs with multiple State awards received throughout the years.

As acting KAFHS President, Mr. Jones, will host along with the Hopkins County Fair Board the KY Fairs and Horse Shows Association Spring Meeting this coming May in Hopkins County.  The Ballard Convention Center on the Hopkins County Fair Grounds will play host to fair supporters and leaders across the State.  “This will allow for a continuation of our honored history as we fellowship with others and strategically plan and direct the future of Kentucky county fairs.  We are an association steeped in proud traditions and I look forward to this next chapter.” said Mr. Jones.
