Brooklynn Claire Barnett Crowned Miss Preteen Hopkins County Fair
HOPKINS COUNTY, Ky. (07/29/17) — Seventeen preteen beauties competed for the 14th annual Miss Hopkins County Fair Preteen crown Friday night at the Ballard Convention Center Fairgrounds.
Brooklynn Claire Barnett, 11, won the title and will represent Hopkins County at the state pageant in October in Louisville.
Carly Jo Pollard was named first runner-up. Kamryn Taylor McKnight was second runner-up.
The 2017 Miss Congeniality award went to Lauren Addie Crick.
Barnett was sponsored by her parents, Kelly Hayward and Brandon Barnett. She attends James Madison Middle School and is a cheerleader. The queen also enjoys gymnastics, dancing and softball.
She mentioned her biggest fan is her dad, because he always supports her in everything she does. Her long-term goal is to become a neonatal nurse.
Pageant coordinators were Alyssa Browning and Kathy Carver. Mistress of ceremonies was Pamela Hight-Todd and scoring was by Rocky Gamblin.
A special thanks went out to the Hopkins County–Madisonville Fair Board, Mark of Distinction for stage décor and queen’s bouquet, Lauren Burden Photography, Darrell Matheny for audio/sound, Kellie Cardwell Heady for stage chandelier, Country Cupboard for providing dinner for judges Rachel Carver and Tina Peyton.
Sponsors were Country Cupboard, and the city of Madisonville.
